What kind of laptop do you have and how do you like it?

How long have you had it?
Has it given you any problems?
How often do you use it?

I have had a Dell E-1505 (dual core pentium, Windows XP) since 2006, and it is still going strong. No problems other than having to replace the battery twice. Use it every day for surfing, and windows office.

I would say the speed of my internet connection is a bigger factor. I must admit that I need my I7 desktop to do things like edit video.

I have a few year old 13" Macbook Pro. I use it rather often when I am typing stuff up for my online class this semester. Hasn’t given me any problems at all, but I am wanting to upgrade to one of the new 15" models, as their processing power is much better than my current setup.

Just got the new Macbook Air today and /love/ it.

I have the new Air as well and my reaction is pretty much this^^

That’s the laptop is looking at right. How do you guys like it for school so far?

I don’t have a computer at all.

Well not exactly my but I been using it for past year pretty much. My mom got this 17’ HP G72 that she got in 2011. (I think the product is somewhat older.) This laptop is used basically all day everyday (minus when both of us is out for school/work/vacation/night). I never really have any problems with this laptop. None at all. Like a couples key got stuck once but fix itself (food). It get hot on the left size after like 5 hours of being used. The top side is usually warm but the bottom get very hot of course but get cool if you let it go for 20 minutes.

The only annoyance I found is that if the battery get to 9%, it will go into hibernation mode and take forever to load back up.

I have a Compaq Presario CQ-220US, a Macbook and a HP Mini netbook. Reason behind
having 3 computers. I thought my Compaq was broken so I bought a Macbook, the netbook I bought for traveling.

As you guys can already tell, the Compaq has given me problems, its sluggish, loud and heavy. The Macbook has been one of the best laptops out of the 3, I’ve had it for 3 years almost and it hasn’t given me any problems. I upgraded the RAM to 8GB which made it a lot faster and I can run more applications at a time. The netbook gave me a couple issues but since I got it fixed 2 years ago, it’s been doing fine. I loaded Win 8 which in my opinion is a lot better than Win 7 and it hardly crashes or freezes. plus the battery lasts for about 4 hours still.

I have an eMachines laptop(they don’t make 'em anymore) that I bought for $300 in early 2010 and I haven’t had much of an issue with it. I had to replace the AC Adaptor(the side that goes into the computer) once but I think there were manufacturing issues with that model so I received a slightly different one under warranty. The battery doesn’t work for more than 10 minutes so I have to plug it in all the time. Other than that it runs Windows 8 after upgrading from W7 and it does so very well. It has 3GB RAM, Intel Pentium DC, and the hinge still moves as beautifully as the day I bought it.

On Sunday though, I bought its replacement which is a Toshiba. I love it. It’s so fast and has a 4th gen Core i7, 8GB RAM, 750GB HD, Full HD 17.3" screen, metal body. I haven’t started to use that one just yet though.

I have a Macbook Pro 15 inch. Gave me a few problems about a year ago, but I guess it was a software issue so I was able to fix it with some help. I love the Macbook Pro but then again, you’re spending so much more money just for the brand. Take it as you will.

Now I got my own laptop. An HP envy 15j050 with 4th gen intel.
I’m just astonished. I’m much faster here than on any other laptop and computer. And Windows 8, if there is a problem I’m not seeing it.
Touch Screen make my job even faster so I don’t know why people recommend against touchscreen. If you’re used to smartphone and tablets the touchscreen will be a big plus. The “digital” keyboard is more for convertible use imo.

This laptop DOESN’T HEAT UP at all two days now and not once did it pass the room temperature.

I have a Dell Vostro 1520.

How long have you had it?
Since I was a senior in high school, so a little over 3 years now.

Has it given you any problems?
The only real problem I encountered was my battery suddenly started to drain very fast about a year ago. I ordered another battery from Dell (cost about $100) and it has worked fine ever since.

How often do you use it?
A few hours every day during the school year. During the summer, I am on it much less.

I bought my laptop directly from Dell for just $500. It works like a charm. There is not much to it, but it does what I need it to do and has proved to be very reliable.

I have a mac mini, I love it very much. small, light and economic.
