I've been hearing that UD gave lots of merit money this year... to both in state and OOS students. Were there lots of small scholarships or did they give more students their large scholarship packages (that honor students usually get)? Anyone know? Also, what kind of stats were needed for the larger scholarships?

I got $4,000 a year.

SATs: 1750
GPA: 3.73

But thats not totally what they go off of if you read the website. It lot has to do with leadership qualities, community service and recommendations, which I had a lot of on my application, which is probably why I got in + scholarship

A lot of people in my school also got scholarships. I havent heard of anything over $4,000 a year but I’m sure there are some out there.

Not sure what Honors students get.

I got $11,000 a year ($5,500 per term) this year. I’m OOS, my SAT super score was 2070, ACT score was 31, have a 3.4 unweighted GPA, and I’m in the International Baccalaureate program.

I’m instate and got 4k a year and I got into honors. My SATs were 2190 and my GPA a 3.99. My essay sucked though.

My son was named a duPont Scholar this week, so he’s getting a full ride (tuition, room, board, books, enrichment stipend). He’s thrilled!

ACT: 34; SAT: 2230; unweighted GPA: 4.0. As a parent, though, I have the impression that UD really does look more closely at the whole student package, rather than numbers alone. My son had strong essays and letters of recommendation. His extracurriculars were meaningful and varied, though not excessive. At the Distinguished Scholars Competition last weekend, his social skills and personal interview seemed to be important deciding factors as well for the selection committee.

Congrats to all!!! Fine accomplishments to be proud of!!

:)

Thank you all for the replies! Very nice scholarships…congrats to you all :)

Anyone else care to contribute?
