yeah i got into sfs this year ea, and my sat score was 740 math, 730 verbal, 720 writing... if you need anything else pm me

but once again, SATs are NOT everything... I had 770 cr and 720 math and was deferred... gpa, ecs are obviously important, too.

I have a 780 W, 800 CR, and ... a 620 M. Is that math just going to kill me? I'm going to take it once more... what range should I aim for?

the highest you can get? remember, georgetown is not looking at writing scores, so... the higher you get on the math, the better? usually in the 700+ range is considered high enough. but if you are a strong enough candidate otherwise, i can't see a 620 keeping you out.

Actually, I'm in SFS and I know that at school in terms of numbers, the hardest school to get into is the college at Georgetown. I think SFS really focuses more on you in terms of your writing ability, and maybe math ability because so many of the sfs students have problems with the econ requirement. If you feel your SAT is competitive for the college, then it is definitely competitive for SFS, I'd say a 1380 and higher should suffice. But again, everything depends on you as a whole. I know SFS likes people with interesting experiences. So I think an interesting or outstanding experience will fare you better in admissions than a 1600.

And so you have an idea, I'm class '08, with an SAT 1 of 1410 ( 750 v 660m ) and an 800 sat2 writing. Also passed tons of AP's including an econ ( which probably helped) and had work with Los Angeles City Council. Good luck.

The average SAT score was slightly higher for the SFS than it was for the college. (I believe either this year's or last year's average was 1410 or so, slightly (neglibly) less for the College.

It's all about the ECs, and showing that you want to be here, and are prepared to contribute to the school when you are.

remember.. gtown doesn't look at your writing grades of the SAT

will they look at them next year? (for applicants graduating in '07)

you need a combined sat score of 1000000

I remember looking at results from last year's acceptances, and students who applied to SFS generally had higher SAT scores... but there were also I think two students with significantly lower scores (around 1300 SAT) who were accepted to SFS... so I really do think Georgetown looks at more than just your numbers. If you have an outstanding GPA, extracurriculars, and leadership positions, a lower-than-average SAT shouldn't kill your chances... (I'm really hoping that is the case for the business school as well)
