the vibe i get from the people i know who go/went there is that they hated their time there. its a great institution with an incredible academic reputation, but they just made very few friends and didnt get to have the college experience. based on the information i get from uchicago, it seems like a really fun place, but the admissions committee can easily twist the information and bias it in order to get more applicants. is it really fun going to uchicago?
what do you do on an average friday/saturday night, and on an average wednesday night?
thanks!

I have friends older than me who attend UChicago and I have been with them several times on campus. While there is a chunk of students who don’t have much of a social life, I’d say 70% students know how to have a good time. There’s all sorts of intramural sports going on and I know midnight soccer was a really big thing for some of my friends. Others set up drinking games and party the night away while others watch a movie together or go downtown. Others play Dungeons and Dragons. Others play FIFA and others participate in the hundreds of RSO’s (activities) on campus.

In general, the social scene is the same as any other school although there will be more people in their rooms either due to studies or just being not as social.
