I want to go into IR (International Relations), and I’m curious as to what sort of grades are needed.
Look at their website. It is very specific what is needed.
They care very little about grades.
I’ve looked there, but I’m more interested in like specifics of people who have gotten in, like ACT and AP wise
Once again, I have to ask if you’ve read their web site. They want SAT scores 700 or higher in each section and 2 SAT subject 700 or higher or two APs of 5 in certain subjects.
They don’t mention ACT or GPA.
I suggest you repost in the UK sub-forum (under International) asking for personal experiences.
Official advice is: https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/intrel/prospectivestudents/undergraduate/
The prospectus states that US students should have a minimum GPA of 3.6+ on a 4.0 scale.
Like the others have said read the website. IR is competitive ACT 28 minimum or SAT1950 minimum… 3 AP’s minimum in appropriate subjects English Lang/ Any of the histories/ A foreign language would be useful but not essential …minimum 2 5’s and a 4 and a good personal statement. Strongly recommend you visit in term time to get a feel for the place when the students are there. Student activities revolve around sports (playing rather than watching) and student societies and clubs. Good luck.
Thank you so much to everyone who responded!
