A student with 99% SSAT?
I did 61% on SSAT, but I promise that I'm good at
physics and have my own understand of it. I think the
admission office will be surprised about my creative essay.
But did they want a student with potential OR high test score?

PS. I'm a top 10 studnet in my school.
But I'm a international studnet, therefore I did bad on verbal and reading.

“But did they want a student with potential OR high test score?”?

ideally, both.

a 99 alone won’t get anyone accepted but a 61 is low for those schools. & i doubt these schools are very lenient for international students, as you’re to be held up to the same standards as domestic students-- if you have a weaker vocabulary and lower comprehension skills, how are you expected to be able to keep up in class?

if you’re really really good at physics, maybe that’ll make up for it. take this with a grain of salt, and don’t let me discourage you, but i think that a 61 might raise flags.

You asked about Andover or Exeter, but I think most top schools are looking for very similar (if not the same) things. We received a letter last week from Deerfield, explaining their admission process and things of interest to them:

candidates with excellent academic credentials without taking a lot of effort, so they can truly benefit from what top BS can offer

lots of EC’s and interests

able to add value and contribute to the school community

being nice

btw, I believe we got a letter from Andover also saying similar things.

And to prove my English ablity, I think I get high Toefl (a test for foreigh students) score, and I do that only in a month, that’s a big improment, can they consider me?

I am an international student too. What toefl score did you get? I think they just make us take toefl to see if our English is good enough (good enough that we can follow up in class and eveything). So I’m sorry to say this, but I don’t think 60s isnt an enough score for Andover & Exeter (even for international students. There are plenty of international candidates out there that got 80+ scores) and I don’t think they’ll really care about toefl that much…
