What language do you take?

Le francais.

I've taken French since seventh grade...currently in French IV Honors. Not the most fluent in speaking or writing it, but I manage well enough. Heh.

Ich lerne Deutsch.

I've only been taking it since freshman year (I'm a senior now), 6 of my 7 classmates have been taking it since 6th grade or earlier. The seventh one is Dutch.

Yeah. Hooray for AP German. And being the only girl in the class o_O.

I swear, I'm so tired of hearing the word balls.

I'm taking Italian IV honors and Spanish II. I should be in honors Spanish, but it didn't fit into my schedule.

I speak English and Vietnamese. I'm taking French IV and German V.

I stopped after Spanish III, but I feel very comfortable with Spanish. Fluent? Maybe:).

I'm learning Japanese, or I was until I had like A LOT of homework.

Well, stopping after Spanish 3 means you aren't fluent because there are many sentence and grammar points you didn't learn from higher levels.

Spanish. (10 char)

Um, actually Masterus you don't have to know all grammar forms in order to be fluent. I can go to Mexico and survive. I call that being fluent and applying the language.

I know A LOT of grammar forms.

Example: Most Americans don't speak with excellent, accurate grammar.

im taking spanish 3
its pretty easy

"Um, actually Masterus you don't have to know all grammar forms in order to be fluent. I can go to Mexico and survive. I call that being fluent and applying the language.

I know A LOT of grammar forms."

thats so true
like spanish speakers, they dont know all grammar forms
they just speak it.
my spanish teacher is a native speaker and she told us that she actually had to learn the rules and all that in college because she didnt know them

I'm from San Antonio, Texas, which is the closest thing to Mexico not actually bordering it.

No one cares if you're perfect in grammar or know the supine-grammar form. It's all relative and pointless if you can't use it.

Well think about it, You couldn't read a Spanish book, but in English we could read an english book. Not fluent, and I doubt you could fully translate the news

Masterus, you don't have to finish AP spanish to be fluent, hell you can finish spanish 2 and be able to understand most of the words people are saying. Growing up in Corpus Christi, Texas I can tell you that few spanish speakers have "perfect" grammar.

Have you ever heard the speed of Spanish because of the accents? Native speakers talk fast.

Wow! I can't believe there are so many people who take Latin! Maybe it's just because everyone's on CC, which more intelligent people post on, in general. Is it true that Latin looks better on College applications?

Im taking spanish.

I'm taking Latin at school but I want to self-study Arabic, German, and Japanese is it hard? What software and books does everyone use?

I heard Pimsleur was good.
