I'm currently a senior in high school and I feel like I should start looking for a laptop that would fit me for college. When it comes to computers I really am clueless. I don't really get all the specs and stuff. Anyways, I would use the laptop for long periods of time just because I'm addicted to the internet. I don't game though so i wouldn't need a laptop that was extremely powerful. I generally just surf the net, download music, chat on messanger, etc. I plan to go to pharmacy school in a few years so I would be taking a lot of science classes in the next few years. I don't think it would require anything of the laptop but feel free to correct me. What got me here is that I keep seeing sales going on and I feel like I'm missing out. Black friday had all these amazing sales on laptops but my mom didn't want to buy me one yet. Would there be more sales during the summer or closer to the beginning of the fall semester? I've considered netbooks but they are just too small for my liking. I think it would be difficult for me to write a paper on such a small keyboard and screen. For my budget, under 500 is ideal but if thats too little for a decent computer please suggest a more reasonable price limit. Is there a certain brand that is more reliable than the others? Any suggestions on keeping the laptop alive as long as possible?

There is a huge back to school sale for laptops in August if you can wait until then.
