ahah @ redo… I read the asterisk-ed part of your post totally the wrong way… mind in the gutter

^^ hahahaha

LOL is this an appropriate time for a that’s what she said?

I picked UCLA over Berkeley. I knew I was going to get a good education wherever I went, so I picked the school based on the campus/housing/etc. Can’t wait for the fall!

Decided to SIR to UCLA… I got into to every UC (applied just to see) but after visiting each campus, I knew it had to be between UCI and UCLA. In the end I couldn’t see myself being very happy choosing UCI later down the road and I promised myself to live my life in such I way that I will have no regrets when lying on my death bed. So many doors will be opened up because of the schools rep., education and social life plus my fiancee will be just down the 405 at CSULB. It’s a win-win for me.

Ouch, just down the 405 from UCLA to CSULB could be at least an hour most of the time O.o But definitely closer than Irvine, haha.

I chose UCD because as much as I liked Irvine, I liked UCD a little more than UCI… granted, not enough to turn down Irvine, but the ridiculous house rent prices down there pushed me over the edge, after days of agonizing :

Hated having to do that! Part of me is thrilled, the other part is sorta sad. I dunno why. XD

I think I would’ve felt much worse had I tried to go to UCI and somehow managed to botch up the moving and then not be going to any UCs!

I picked Berkeley because:
- it’s close to home and I already know quite a few people who are going there/ going to go there this fall
- I can add/switch into the Media Studies major (adding Comm at UCLA is practically impossible)
- it enjoys a pretty good reputation academically!
- the campus is gorgeous

I must admit, however, UCLA’s weather and housing options top Cal’s. That, the “safety issue” and the semester system are the only things that slightly bother me about Berkeley though.

I would have chosen UC Berkeley even if I were a spring admit!

I went with UCLA because…
- Prestige
- Most beautiful campus
- Diversity among students and staff
- Amazing sports programs
- Surrounding area is home to the rich & famous
- The media industry in LA/Hollywood loves grads from UCLA, not really UCB.
- UCLA has cool Media and Marketing clubs open to all
- My best friend was denied from UCLA 3 times, he ended up at USC =P
- All jokes aside, UCLA just felt perfect

I also like that I can take additional courses in Comm and Film so I can list on my resume.

UCD: Has an animal science program, and I can get some veterinary internship experience. Plus it’s far away from home (I’m from southern California), so I can learn to be independent, but at the same time, it’s only two hours away from my aunt’s so I can just call her if I need anything. I could’ve applied to UCI if I wanted to, since it’s only 15 minutes away from home, but when I was in high school and attended a college fair, a UCI representative told me UCD was a much better fit for what I wanted to do. Plus, I’ve lived in Irvine for 10 years now–I really don’t want to be stuck in this city for an additional 4 years.

UCD: because even though I thought UCSC was a better fit for me in many ways, I am a transfer student. This means I won’t be spending as much time at the UC as I would have if I was going to a four year out of high school, so my priorities are a little different. Fit it no longer as important (unfortunately) as research and other opportunities for my major, and Davis has a much bigger neuro dept than SC. But honestly, I think I’ll eventually warm up to Davis.

Davis is awesome! youll fall in love in no time

I turned down Berkeley and UCSB in favor of UCLA. I live in Orange County, so UCLA is far enough away for me to justify moving out, but close enough for me to go home on the weekends if need be. Also, the geography department at UCLA seems to focus more on what I’m interested in and the available classes are much more appealing to me.

location location location!

i would have loved to attend Cal as well, but not having to move out weighed Cal in the end.
