What level of math is on the Math II subject test?

Hey guys,

I am going to apply to engineering schools (UC's mostly) next year and they want engineering students to take the Math II subject test. What level of math is on this test? Algebra? Geometry? Pre-cal? Calculus? Trig? More basic stuff, or advanced stuff?

Thanks

Just about everything up to precalc, but no calculus. If u've taken precalc in school, then u'll be fine.

make sure you know linear algebra and complex analysis too though. Eigenvectors are a killer on the SATII Math 2.

^^haha, yea cauchy sequences can be puzzling if you havent seen them before

jk

Just grab a copy of Barrons SAT II: Math Level II from your local book store or Amazon and you'll be good to go. Don't fret if the material seems too hard since the actual exam is quite a bit easier. However, it doesn't hurt to prepare for the worst.

So is the barron's book the best book to prepare with?

everything THRU precalc and trig.

make sure you know your trig identities

does anyone know how to program them onto a ti 83 or 89?

Yea, I personally thought Barrons was good. It definitely is harder but its good prep anyways. And kyzan, if you cant remember all the trig identities, it is possible download TI's studycard creator program and transfer of that to your calc. However, I am not advocating you do so =P, but you could!

ohhh, how do i do that? :D Yea, I've been missing 1 question in the barron tests, and that 1 question always involves some ghetto trig transformation
