What looks better, 4 years of a language in HS, or 4 years of a language total?

<p>So I took French 4 in my junior year. Would colleges see this as 4 years of a language or do they want 4 full years of a language in High School? Is this equal to a student taking French 1-4 in HS?</p>

For most colleges, yes. They are looking to see that you have achieved a certain level.</p>

<p>Usually, highest level completed is the most relevant.</p>

<p>Of course, if you can take French 5, that would be even better.</p>
