What made you choose Cornell over other schools in the Ivy League and elsewhere?

Input from poli-sci and international relations majors especially preferred, though I’d like to hear input from everyone

Well ILR is perfect for me personally because I know I want a career in something social studies related, BUT I’m not sure exactly what that career is, although I’m really liking HR. Plus, Cornell is one of the most beautiful place you can be. Visit the campus. Also Ithaca is like literally the number one college town in the us- I’m pretty sure the mayor is legit 24 years old, which is just awesome. Sry I’m not majoring in poli Sci or international relations

cause its swag

@zenithar143 Svante (the mayor) is 27, but you were close! He’s the coolest guy on the planet. And Ithaca is the #1 college town and, despite all the complaining people do about the weather, it’s the best place in the world (in my slightly biased opinion). Cornell is a wonderful, diverse community with amazing opportunities. It’s perfect if you like big schools and if you prefer small schools, because you’re in your own college within Cornell so the size is never too overwhelming.

However, political science is not offered as a major; Arts & Sciences has a Government major which is Cornell’s version of poli sci.

^well there’s also ILR, which from what I can tell is similar to poli sci in nature.

I liked that the college town and environment wasn’t a giant city. I know Ithaca is no small place but it wasn’t Philly or NYC. It was also one of the only schools I really liked that had a strong program in nutrition.

The financial aid packet is amazing and the campus is beautiful

D loved the campus the food and Ithaca’s Collegetown area.

The ILR school, which does dabble in international affairs and political science-y topics (though not exclusively), is basically the best school in the country for those interested in the topic. Was a no-brainer for me.

For me I chose it because it’s closest to home and was the only Ivy I thought I had a real shot at getting accepted. I only hear good things about the campus, food and surroundings.
