I know everyone has different reasons. But I’m just curious. I’m applying because I just felt so right at the campus, it just fit me. Please no theological debates, cuz I really don’t care what you think of my church. If you have any problems take it up with God cuz no one else is going to listen to you. Also if anyone does make random rude commments just ignore them so this thread doesn’t go off on tangents. I just want to know what made you fall in love with BYU.

for me it was the

"BYU students are required to adhere to a strict honor code that forbids extramarital sexual relations, alcohol or drug consumption, and cheating. The honor code also requires that students be religiously active, wear modest clothing, and avoid outlandish hairstyles."

lolol

The Honor code was something else I really liked. You know everyone around you is striving to live up to those standards so you don't have to worry about alot of things like coming home to your dorm and finding your roommate doing umm.. extramarital relations. Nor will your roommate ever come home drunk or high. Its comforting knowing how safe the enviroment is to.

oh god i was kidding, i don't go to BYU sorry lol

I caught your sarcasm in the first message but thought I'd point out the benefits of that honor code.

lol well i guess for me it is the honor code that would prevent me from ever applying. but hey...all people are different

Yes. Please remember this is America and everyone should be allowed to practice their religion without being made fun of. Please show respect in all your comments.

Well, let's see. The Honor Code was DEFINITELY a huge plus for me. I love how people at BYU can have fun without going out and getting drunk. I also think the academics are great, the campus is beautiful, and the price was, well, perfect (I had a full tuition scholarship when I was accepted. I lost it later though :( ). BYU is a great college with great people. I love it!

Huge social pressures to go...I would of rather gone to UCLA or UCSD. I think the honor code can be a bit ridiculous...but it dosn't bother me. I do like it up here though. so much fun! It is also really cheap. Ummm....what else?

This is random but, One thing that really bugs me about some of the random people who check in on this forum is that they act like they are so anti moral and like they're so cool for drinking and having sex...dude like you are doing that stuff anyways. anybody who spends alot of time on this website, probably dosn't have the prospects to go out and drink, and for sure to go out and have sex. Maybe cybersex...but c'mon. Stop thinking your are so friggin cool. cause you're not.

Haha! Your post made my laugh bobdylan. You're absolutely right!

bob dylan turned tyrannical, lol.
im not in love with the school but i chose byu because of its business school, study abroad program (which i might not end up using) and of course the low cost.

you seem to be pretty close minded about your faith. its okay though, you'll fit right in. As you probably know, diversity is NOT BYU's strong point, lol. Its definitely a great place to avoid criticisms about the religion, although i would suggest that we listen.
The people are real nice, i feel like i can strike up a conversation anywhere i go. But then again, is it unjustly induced? sometimes i wonder...
