I know what attracted me to Penn, and what made me pick it, but now I’m curious (and also procrastinating as though my life dependended on it).

I’m curious as to why people from far and wide get attracted to Penn, apply to it, and if blessed with the opportunity, choose it.

It’s a question partially for my own vanity, I suppose, but I’d also like to compare your conceptions to my 2 years of experience (To think I’ve been here two years already…).

I can’t help but wonder how outsides students see the University, and what they think they’re getting into

Additionally, I can’t help but wonder if you’re due to be sorely disappointed or right on the mark :-D

im trying to transfer there for their product design and innovations concentration within mech engr

plus phili is cool, i like the northeast

party school.

1 business school.

ranked 4th.
philly is cool

bam. those r reasons why everyone chooses it.

well i guess your reasons are accurate...though it would be great if people saw Penn as more than Wharton >.<

We should start with the excessive self-promotion of Whartonites.

self-promotion is a vital life still in this world. I'd thank Wharton for instilling that in me, the SAS student.

i visited campus soph yr. this was after visiting, not kidding, the rest of the ivies (except for cornell and dmouth). i dunno. i loved campus the most. then i fell in love w/ the huntsman building. haha X)
it was just a convenience that wharton's the best business school ever. so i decided to apply (originally wanted to do huntsman.. seemed like the perfect blend of what i want(ed?) to do).

that's my story.

I said excessive. There's a difference between confidence and self-glorification.

I stand by what I said. Self-glorification is a must in this world, which is hyper-competitive no matter what you go into (be it business, powerful government positions, or academia).

While I personally keep a sense of modesty, I have learned that self-glorification is not a luxury, but a necessity to compete with the best of the best.

Cheers!

Funny story, I wanted to do Huntsman too, but didn't meet the foreign language requirement.

Well I will keep to my modesty even after destorying all the Wharton classes I've taken so far (hey, you said self-glorification is a must).

Yess...yesss...it is...now you're catching on!

party school.
awesome in social sciences.
i have friends there, and friends going next year.
its in my hometown, and I love my hometown.

I am entering Penn to complete the final two years of my Economics degree because:
1) I feel Penn is the best place to get my Economics degree and maybe some internships
2) Penn is an Ivy (I always wanted an Ivy degree)
3) After visiting last month, I feel in love with Philly (It's a smaller version of NY)
4) There are just intangibles about Penn that I like that I am unable to describe in words

chanman wrapped it up.

Also, hotter females than the other Ivies.

"Also, hotter females than the other Ivies."

I disagree

lol. i said somewhere else i think the hotter ppl are @ columbia.. like, overall

sempitern where are u going next yr?

use beer goggles, people.

Well the girls of the class of 2009 may just may just reconfirm the statement "Also, hotter females than the other Ivies."!!!!!!
Hopefully the guys won't be soo bad themselves!:P Fine '09!
