From CA, hoping to go to the East Coast ideally, I am interested in Psychology but from a musical viewpoint, and want to go about it perhaps through Neuro-logy/-science. What do you recommend?

The possibilities include a major or minor in Music combined with a major or minor in Psychology, Neuroscience, or Cognitive Science.

Check out Cornell.

Furman? We visited them recently and they seemed to be quite good with their musical offerings even for non-majors. They also have Neuroscience. You’d have to check with them to see how the two could merge.

Look at NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, which is a small undergrad college within NYU that takes advantage of all the resources of NYU – which include, of course, major offerings in music, pscyhology, neuroscience, etc. The school offers close work with mentor/advisor and a structured but individualized program, including a senior symposium. Hidden gem!

What can your family afford? What are your stats (grades and scores)?
