<p>Not quite. A CE does have to take programming, but a CS major would take more classes in programming than CE. There is overlap so A CE could transition over to webmaster if they wanted, although the converse is not true. If you want to soley work with software I say CS. </p>
<p>For some of those a 4-year degree isn’t even necessarily required. Look at job postings in that area and see what kinds of educational requirements are in the ads.</p>
