What should I major in if I want to make a lot of money?

patent Law

i mean what undergrad business major

Printing. you can work for the U.S. Mint and make a lot of money.

lol

(need 10 characters so this is it :o)

Finance, econ, and accounting usually set you on the right path for making a lot of money.

patent law is really good?

You should major in engineering if you want to be a patent lawyer

petroleum engineering

EWWWWW...I despise science.

I'd go with finance.

One thing about engineering, medicine or law-it' going to provide a steady income, but you won't be sitting on truckloads of money.

yes i hate science also but i do agree that engineering does not make a lot of money in the end, but i think most petroleum engineers can start at 70000-75000 first year out of college while most johns hopkins first year undergraduates start at 37000 average

But medicine, law, or engineering will provide the means to pursue other ventures when one has made enough money.

Not everyone with a business/finance degree can make truckloads of money.

Actually Engineering is a pretty good major if you're interested in getting into Hedge Funds, they're mainly focused on hiring quants, not plain old finance majors.

Both medicine and law can provide other excellent careers further down the line. Just because you initially start as something doesn't mean you have to continue it.

The CEO at Lazard actually started as a lawyer at Cravath.

There is no set major/path to make you a fortune. It's much more a matter of the path you make.

how much do Ibanking associates from Wharton and Harvard MBA programs make?? Including base pay, bonus and signing bonuses

Analyst with BA/BS/BBA: $60k base+$10k signon+$30-$60k bonus=$100k to $130k
Associate with MBA/JD/MS/DBA: $100k base+$15k signon+$100k to $150k bonus=$215k-$265k

good luck getting into Wharton and Harvard MBA. It will be hard.

If they really want to get a Harvard MBA, they could try doing a stint in Iraq. that should certainly help.

what does an analyst do?

Number-crunching.

I'm considering getting a dual degree from Berkeley in engineering and bussiness. Would me getting the bussiness degree help that much in getting into a top 5 MBA program or getting a consulting or I banking job or should I just focus on engineering.
