What major would be best before pre-med?

I want to know which major(s) at UCLA would best prepare us for pre-med and medical school later on..

pre-med is still a vague, broad umbrella.

figure out WHAT you want to do in med school, and then picking a major is easier. or you can pick any major at all and take pre-med reqs on the side.

if you know what you want to do, there are several majors which cover pre-med reqs, but it’s what else they cover that varies (ie, psychobio is different from life science, etc)

short answer is that it doesn’t matter and you just need to take care of the pre-reqs. fwiw, a lot of pre-med kids are some form of biology - especially physiological science.

^read up!

Anything is possible, but a life science or physical science major would be most convenient because they cover most of pre reqs. Thats about it. A lot of the med students who were physiological science majors say that their major helped them out a lot in med school with anatomy and what not, but to base your major off of that would be silly.

don’t have a cow, mrMOO.

major in something you will do well in
