So, what kind of computer is your student bringing or using at Stevens? Would you recommend it? We have looked at the minimal specifications required for students bringing their own computers to Stevens, but still have questions before we buy (DH and I are teachers and not engineers) I have searched on CC to learn what make and model of computer engineering students generally like/need, but much of the information is outdated. I am especially confused about “graphics/optic capabilities.” I have also not found our local computer salespeople very helpful as this is a very specific kind of computer. Thanks in advance.
My son has an HP laptop. He is a mechanical engineer and received this when he entered Stevens 3 years ago. Don’t know about the specs but he said they use Solidworks software. I know nothing about computers

Maybe get a price so you can compare when you go shopping. Stevens probably gets a discount because they buy so many.
