What math class should I take?

Hi. I'm a high school junior, soon to be senior. I'm taking algebra 2 this year. It's been a little tough, my grade is either an A- or a B-. Right now, its a B-. I've heard that pre calc is really hard, and I don't know if I want to go through that if I don't have to. My questions are:
Is AP stats hard? throughout my life and college career including all my other science classes, would I need precalc or calculus? Only a few vet schools state that they want calculus as your pre req math class, most of them say stats.
The college im looking at will take AP stats and it will count as a required math course through the college.
My last question is are there other math classes I can take in college to help with my other sciences that don't require calculus?
Thanks for reading, I'd appreciate all the advice I can get!

Look at the pre-vet classes you need for the schools you want to apply to. Some of the chemestries/bios may have calculus prereqs (in order to take the course you need calculus). My friend is a chem major and she has to take a lot of calc courses and as a pre-vet major you would need some chem classes. BUT the chem classes she is taking are at a much higher level than someone who is doing pre-vet-so maybe you would not need the calc for lower levels.

I would talk to your adviser about this or call the university. If you do choose to do statistics instead, most schools will have you take a math placement test and you just take a precalc in college if you don’t score high enough to get into a calc-it’s not really a big deal. But you may not need the extra math anyway.

BTW I’m looking at the courses for my school’s pre-vet program and I do not see any math courses or math prerequisites.

Best of luck-and precalc may not be as hard as you think (maybe if you’re in honors you could take regular next year?)

Thanks for your reply kanick! Okay so here’s this chart of all the vet school pre-req requirements.
http://www.aavmc.org/data/files/vmcas/prerequisite_chart_2013.pdf

It’s super helpful, and it shows that more than half require a math course, most say only statistics.(I don’t know what vet school I want yet, but most of the ones that require calculus, etc. are places im not interested in)

None of the sciences I will need to take have a math requirement at my #1 college choice.

I also did some more research into the math courses available at the college and if I get AP credit for stats, in college (If I pass the placement exam) I can jump right into a calculus class for life sciences. If I dont pass, I would just need to take a pre req math course to calculus, and it would only be 1 year of math, which I can afford.

I think it would be better for me to take AP stats next year. Now my question would be how hard is it, and how hard is the AP exam? I did schedule a meeting with my guidance counselor, so I can talk to him about it and I’m trying to find students who took/are taking the class.
