<p>I know that it’s not required anymore (as implied by my recommendation that he not take it if he takes 112A), but unless you’re doing Biomechanics, knowledge of the relevant functional groups should prove at least moderately useful (certainly more so than the content of some of the other lower-end technical electives). 112A bypasses that issue by presenting virtually all of them in a single semester, though it does deprive you of what little biochemistry you’d see in 3B.</p>
