What Math should I take?

I took Algebra 1 in 8th grade and got a C all four quarters. Geometry in 9th and got C’s again, Algebra 2 in 10th and got my first D first semester and a C second so I retook 1st semester Algebra 2 in 11th and finally got a B in math. But also what’s tricky is that I didn’t take Algebra 2 my second semester of 11th grade because I passed. Someone told me you have to take math 3 consecutive years in order to be considered for admission to any UC or CSU is this true?

I am currently in a class called “Math for Health Sciences” (not even sure if it’s college prep?) and everyone is telling me to take Pre Calc however, I am terrible in math (as you can so obviously see) so is it worth possibly getting a D or C in?

You need 3 years of math up to Algebra II to be considered for admission to a CSU/UC. Your C from Algebra II 2nd semester should have validated your D from 1st semester, so retaking would only boost your GPA which I am sure was your motivation. Overall having C’s on your transcript will hurt your chances at any UC and the competitive CSU’s, but it looks like you have achieved the minimum math requirements. Taking Pre-Calc would help your HS rigor, but it may hurt you in the end since your CSU/UC provisional admission requires you to maintain a C or above in all your a-g courses.
