The only college in Indiana that offers an actuarial science major is Ball State. I have a friend who went to Depauw and ended up becomming an actuary. Though he enjoyed his time at Depauw, he always felt like he had to scramble in order to catch up with the Ball State actuarial students who usually had at least a couple of the tests in the bag by the time they graduated.

For top students who know that they want to pursue an actuarial degree, Ball State is not a bad choice and will probably be pretty liberal with merit $. The problem with Ball State, in my opinion, is that after you move out of a couple of the select offerings/majors, you kind of have a mixed bag academically speaking.
