What more can I do? Planning ahead for the tech sector

Thank you for taking your time to open and read this!

I'm going to be a sophomore this fall and I'm trying to get an internship next summer in the startup/tech sector (I have a huge passion for tech). I'm attending Cornell U. and majoring in AEM (Undergrad Business). Currently, I'm interning in the Bay Area for a division of Morgan Stanley as well as a private K-12 school as a digital marketing intern/consultant. I'm hoping to do the same next summer, but for a tech product based company like Google, MS and Yahoo!.

I realize that it's going to be very challenging to land in such a competitive internships as a sophomore, but I'm hoping that with a head start (interning during freshmen summer) I can perhaps stand out from the crowd.

Anyway, I'm wondering what else I can do in order to prepare myself to apply for an internship next summer. I'm going to apply in the non-technical positions for these companies, and probably marketing/product management related. Do you guys have any suggestions to what else I can do to further my position?

I read many articles of BOLD internship at Google and it's extremely interesting to me. I feel that I can fit in to the creative tech sector, as my personality is very compatible with those of tech sector employees.

Summary:
Asian
Sophomore in the fall
3.5 GPA - Undergrad Business, Marketing specialization
Leadership roles in 2 business related clubs on campus

Thank you! I'm willing to help anyone who have questions about my current interns etc. too!

Why not reach out to those companies directly? Connect with one of their managers and tell them your story and if they can guide you.
