What motivates you?

Fear... I actually had a history class where all the professor would talk about is how fear is the only motivation in humans.

haha, thats freakin awesome.. lol, fear.. ah.. my purpose.. there is none.. i dont think there is a purpose ever, i think our "purpose" is to discover that "purpose".. lollol.. ok that made no sense.. ya, hoenstly, i dontknow.. but i really like that soul mate one.. lol, i gotta agree.. haha

My purpose is to rid the world of overpriced gasoline, or invent a new fad-toy such as furby v.2 but I can't decide which one to conquer first.

"money, power, and success
and of course happiness as a result of above mentioned things"

Aristotle's theory is that everyone's goal in life is to achieve hapiness. Whatever that person does is because he thinks it will somehow give him happiness. That's what motivates everybody.
....sorry...I was just reading Aristotle's "On Man in the Universe" last week....

The almighty greenback (or sterling, or yen, or franc, or euro)...what can i say im a fx trader at heart :)

a combination of the desire to be happy with a sense of social justice in that I live for a greater good

What is motivating me right now is the desire to get out of the one horse town i'm in. I'm anxious to get to college in a big city and experience new things.

well motivation in life is from my parents. they work really hard and I'd like to help them out with our family when I can cuz they've really given me a lot. I'll be the first from my siblings to go to college so they still have a long way to go. And when I talk to those old-ish teachers and when they tell me what they've done ..they all agree that the 1 thing that will get you somewhere is that "fire in your belly" ... you know, to do what you want to do cuz you wanna do it, not to do it cuz you wanna get rich. I talked to one such guy and he told me he's been chairman of so many education boards and he's won so many international awards, and he's seen every education system availabe -- from the top of the prep schools in California or the Northeast to the the most bottom, such as in West Virginia. And he told me that he doesn't wanna work with those kids at the top who wanna do everything to get into Harvard to get rich, but he wants to work with those kids in the poor environment who really look forward to getting an education and doing something just for the sake of knowledge. He said there are too many gifted people who suffer from domestic abuse, and this is why they can't focus ... and those kids could be the best of this world, but they're not because they're more worried about what's gonna happen to them when they get home then failing a geometry test. And talks like that really do motivate me too.

And I met these Ethiopian girls a couple of days ago, and they were runners, and they were telling me how they were invited to all of these races and how they practice and when you look at them, it may not cross your mind at first that they're runners. But they motivated me to go run this summer. They were all cool about it, and I really liked talking to them, because sometimes when you try to get tips from other runners, they think you're not good enough or they may be kinda stuck up. And my friend said she thinks I can do it. And she tends to be realistic and practical so I believe her :) So I'm really gonna run this summer.

edit: wow guys sorry that was so long, I have this horrible habit of rambling on and on.
