I'm hoping to double major in communication studies and MT. I don't want to minor and I don't want to major only in Theatre Arts unless there's an MT concentration.
Currently I know that Temple and American have good communication programs and allow for double major mt's. I know James Madison does as well, but I don't know much about their communication program. Could anyone give me any more information on whether their MT program allows double majors in Communcation studies? Thank you!

From what I understand JMU has a strong communications program ad that within the program you can add concentrations in specific areas. Depending on the major or concentration within communications students must complete certain courses at JMU and apply to be accepted to the communications program.

We have students who double major with any one of the three communications major programs. However, most of them are prepared to take an extra semester (or year, if needed), or summer classes to graduate with both the Musical Theatre Concentration and a communications degree. However, depending on AP. IB, Dual Enrollment, and foreign language placement some students do complete both within four years without summer classes.
