What my chances soph transfer

I want to transfer out of my current college and go somewhere else to do undergrad and possible continue on to do pharmacy.
My High School GPA was a 2.2, and plent of ECs
SAT was a 1430
Right now I'm doing alot better in college but I dont have any ecs besides work and I'm going to start doing martial arts soon. Right now I see myself having atleast a 3.0 in college the way this semester is going but if I were to guessitmate what I would have at the end of the semester would probly be around 3.5.
The School's I was thinking of applying to were Maryland CP, Rutgers NB, and Ohio State. I wanted to know if I had even a legimate shot, should I take my SAT over again. Also my reasons for transfering are that I dont really like the school feel very unhappy also dont like commuting everyday. Also they dont accept applicants for their pharmacy school it's a 0-6 so once your a freshman you cant get in.

Your SAT is fine. I do not know the transfer policies at those particular schools, but I would reason that a 3.5 with your boards would be competitive, even without stellar EC's.

my sat was 1430/2400 to clear that up. 930/1600

Also what can I do of improving my chances of transfering for a soph transfer even though my high school track record is pretty bad. I'm thinking of majoring in pharmacy, business, sports management.

bump bump bump

I would study up and retake the SAT or try the ACT...true, the score doesn't matter as much now, but a 1430 will certainly not help your app and may even hurt it a bit as some colleges do use the SAT scores for transfers. What state are you in? College Park kinda seems like a low reach whereas Rutgers and Ohio State sound more possible, but your residency will also play a role.

New York for high school and college

I go to Rutgers NB and right know i can tell you that you SAT score, your high school GPA will not get you into the pharmacy program because it is very competetive ( i am not saying this in any negative way). Admission commitee looks at everything when you apply. Depending on the number of credits you have earned you might get into one of the colleges (cook, livingston, rutgers college). But in order to get into the Pharmacy program you have to apply again to the School of Pharmacy, which most kids do at the end of their second year. The same goes for the business program which is even harder then pharmacy. You need like a 3.4 GPA to be considered and have to take calculus as well as other classes to be considered for admission inot the business program. As for taking the SAT again, you are in a cc so I would advise against that because the school says so. Post some of the classes you have taken along with the grade if you do not mind. My suggestion is to stay another year at your cc. post back if you want more info. Keep your options open

Rutgers NB (low reach)
Maryland CP(low reach)
Ohio ( do not know)

Have you looked at the SUNY schools? UB offers a pharmacy program, StonyBrook has pharmacology. I do not know if your grades are high enough for pharmacy however because pharmacy is very compatitive right now but it is worth looking into.
Also Cortland has Sports Management and that is as far as I researched - here is the link to their page to look for a campus that has whatever you are interested in:

I'm not in a CC. I'm in a university. I'm at St.johns university in queens. The only classes I'm taking are speech, theology, philsophy, math(alegbra), critical thinking skills, and college experience. Next semester I planing on taking bio, precal, english and thats only thing I'm definity so far. Karu is their anyway I could transfer to rutgers NB go undecided take all my pre-reqs then apply to the pharmacy school my junior year?? I really dont like living at home and communting to school plus st.johns doesn't accept transfers into the pharmacy school that's my reason for transfering

First you need to get into Rutgers. According to you you have a 960 SAT score and a 2.3 GPA. Now with these stats it will be hard for you just to fet admission into the college. If you do not have more then 30 college credits and you do not have at least a 3.00 GPA you are going to be fighting a up hill battle. Take it one step at a time. Post back if you want to clear up any issues

When should I apply because I want to go for fall 2007 but by then if I apply during january, feburary. I only have my fall semester and my 14 credits. I think I'll be able to get atleast a 3.0 if not more

bumpity bump bump

Even though you have your fall semster and your 14 credits your high school record will still weigh very much in the admission, because you do not have atleast 30 to 35 credits. As to when you should apply, you should do so for the Spring of 2008 ( you would put in your application in the fall of september 2007). Correct me if i am wrong you are a freshman and you have 14 credits. Post back.

I'm a freshman and I have 14 credits correct. I just got it checked today with my advisor I have a 2.0 high school GPA

So, yeah it will be best for you to wait untill Sepetmber 2007 to apply for spring admission 08. By that time you should have enough credits and hopefully a high enough GPA to be considered. You can try for the fall semester I am not discouraging you from that but when you apply you will have only have completed 14 credits and if you apply the admission committee will have to take in your high school record more seriously.

I'm in almost the same exact situation. You should try looking at schools that don't take your high school academics into consideration if you have a certain amount of credits. I think it's generally 30 credits, you can just apply after your second semester since a lot of them have rolling admissions.

So I'd apply for the Fall of 2007 in May????? If the school had rolling admissions and I should take 16 credits?

yeah or in late April, whenever you finish. Just make sure you have atleast 30 credits total.

My finals are in the 1st and 2nd week of may. So when should I apply after finals or before???
