<p>Rutgers has a priority application deadline. So the longer you wait after the deadline had passed your chance of being admitted are slim. For the fall of 2007 that date is sometime in December to Janurary. I dont even think you can apply for the fall semester (2007) in May.</p>
<p>The best way to convince adcom your HS record was not reflective of your current ability is a few college semesters (good grades). In your case, I would suggest studying and retaking the SAT I during the winter break to strengthen your argument that "I've changed and grown up". </p>
<p>I would say you have a better shot (pretty good one!) applying after your freshman year (2 semesters of good grade + improved SAT + college professors recommendation letters). </p>
<p>If financially feasible, I would also suggest attending the summer session at your #1 choice. This is not necessary to gain admission but it definitely counts toward your interest of the school. More importantly, it helps you to get a real feel on the school.</p>
