I was unable to bring my daughter to any of the scheduled orientations because of starting a new job. However, she did register for classes duing one of the earlier Honors weekends. How does she obtain an id card and whatever else she might have missed because of not attending an orientaion. If possibile, could you let me know all the things she missed?

I wouldn’t worry at all about the orientation subjects. They will repeat them during move-in weekend, some were probably covered at Honors Weekend, and she will absolutely pick up what she needs to know. As far as the ID, she can get it during move-in, but they also used to let you send in a pic similar to a passport photo and make the ID for you. I think you can send it as a jpeg, you don’t have to mail a physical photo although I think you can do that too. Then you can just pick it up quickly during move-in, or maybe they even mail it back. I don’t remember. I suggest calling admissions and asking for details.

Hey y’all, If you missed orientation, I will be hosting a webinar on July 14th at 8pm. A webinar is basically a narrated powerpoint. This webinar will cover all topics that were presented at Orientation and there will even be a section at the end where you can ask me questions. Be sure to sign up! https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/861782441

This presentation will provide information to new students about life at Tulane, navigating GibsonOnline and Tulane e-mail, what to expect for move-in and other essential information. This is great for both student who attended New Student Orientation in June and those who did not. Parents are also
Yesterday at 11:15am

Also, if you can’t tune in to that, the info from orientation is on the website. I am not certain, but you might have to go through the admitted student website.

As far as id’s, I understood that those without them would be able to have them made on Move In Day - nothing like an additional task to add to the nervousness and chaos of the day! They turn them around while you wait for them though, so you shouldn’t have a problem getting that taken care of.

Hope that helps!

I called about the ID cards several weeks ago. That office will be open on move in Saturday to get id’s made that day. My niece is driving my D down for move in and I believe they are planning to get there early enough on Friday to try to get the ID done then and out of the way. I think the ID is the only thing my D is missing, since she also attended an honors weekend and registered then.

Thank you everyone for your complete and thoughful answers. Our entire famly will be in New Orleans from Wedneesday on so we shuld be able to get everything done in time. Thanks again for all of your help!!!
