What do I move onto next after I've done all the BB exams? What about the Princeton 10 SAT's. Any good?

Nope, they contain lots of mistakes.Your whole studying was wrong in the first place. The BB tests should be done when one has done everything else and feels prepared

^^ wow that was really constructive

well theres 2 practice tests which u can get legally from collegeboard…

ps
u didnt ruin ur studying at all… BB tests are easier compared to REAL tests… so when u get ur hands on the QAS, ull see what its actually like…

There is also the “Red Book”. This preceded the BB and the addition of SAT Writing and a few algebra II type questions. If you find one, you can toss the analogies and math comparisons (if you get one, you will know what I mean) and use CR and math sections for practice. There are some floating around at on-line book vendors websites. Look for “10 Real SATs”, 3rd edition.

^really? I didn’t think BB tests were any easier than the real tests. I have several QAS, and I didn’t think they were easier. If anything, I thought some of them were actually harder, since the CB was running out of good questions to write…

Anyways, you might want to lay off the practice tests for a while. Study some strategy guides, and use them to practice on tests you’ve (now) already taken. See how the strategies work in action and review a bit like that.

Once you feel pretty confident with all of your strategies and techniques, you can order old PSATs off the internet and ahem “come upon” old QAS tests online and just by mistake happen to break international copyright law.

Also try to write practice essays - there are a lot of official essay prompts floating around the internet since the collegeboard releases all of them after testing period. You’ll see that a lot of them get pretty repetitive.

Good luck!

^btw about red book, that’s the blue book for the “old SAT” (you know…the one out of 1600). It’s called “10 Real SATs”

Only ETS/TCB knows whether or not the BB tests are easier or not compared to the real tests. Some people go on to do the PR tests, others obtain 10 Real SATs Book.

You guys don’t know what you’re talking about. Stop giving this kid false information.

First of all, you do NOT only do BB tests after you’ve completed everything else and feel prepared. The BB should be relied on heavily for preparation as it’s the only book with real questions.

Which brings me to my second point. The BB contains some of the only tests made by the ETS. They are not easier, or harder. They are real.

As for what I recommend, the red book is for the old 1600 SAT, and some of the questions are recycled in the BB, so I would stay away from doing that if you haven’t already done the Online Course and real practice tests. The OC has 6 more real practice tests made by the ETS and there are 2 official practice tests that TCB has released. All of these things are legal, btw.

Basically I have been working through the BB doing a section per day using Testmasters online course. I think I will move onto the CB online class next. Thanks for the advice everyone.

Bigb14 –

When you say the BB tests are real, exactly what does that mean? They came out before the 2400 SAT was ever given. So I don’t think they are “real” in the sense that someone had them as their actual SAT. We don’t even know if they were developed with the same statistical models that a real SAT has to fit to. So I’m not saying that they are easier or harder than real SATs. I’m saying I don’t think we know…

Just the fact that there is controversy over the difficulty of BB tests tells us enough. They are similar to the real test and are as similar as anyone will find.

find me one other practice test made by a prep company that is as accurate as the BB.

… I rest my case.

The new edition of the blue book is coming out this summer, hopefully it will contain real (QAS, probably) tests so that all these issues become irrelevant…

I just do some CR part of Princeton. The ruled my answer out b/c “the answer was too extreme”. Suggest you see the SAT question of the day Sat 21 Mar it contain “bigot” and “loath”. how extreme are those?

fignewton whered you hear that?
