<p>After visiting the last 2 universities on his list, my son made his decision and it is Alabama.</p>
<p>He accepted his award, I paid the the enrollment deposit and the housing deposit. We will look at our calendars this evening and book the Bama Bound.</p>
<p>Reading some of the threads, I noticed students and parents mentioning the date that they have selection for housing. When does a student get that info?</p>
<p>I have also printed the Immunization form and the Pharmacy information sheet.</p>
<p>Does anyone have a checklist of things to do with deadlines?</p>

<p>Housing has also been sending e-mails that contain the housing selection date and time, and if you don’t remember your deposit date, I believe it is on your housing application (which you can find on MyBama).</p>
<p>As for other things to do, I can just tell you what we’ve done so far. I booked Bama Bound, made travel arrangements for Bama Bound, had the Vaccination form filled out, made travel arrangements for Family Weekend, and made travel arrangements (and a dentist appt.) for D for fall break (she really wanted to come home). D sent in her application for Outdoor Action, is thinking about sending in her application for Emerging Scholars, and has started working on a fall schedule so she’s prepared with a tentative schedule and alternatives for Bama Bound. On the calendar are June 1, which is when football tickets go on sale for new students, and June 4, which is when you can register for Family Weekend. I’m sure there’s other things I’m not thinking of - I’ll be watching this thread to see what I might have forgotten!</p>
<p>I submitted the deposit today, so my son will have to wait until April 26 for room selection.
Just to reassure some of the parents that are still waiting for their son/daughter decision, when we visited, a few days ago, we were told that even if a student does not make the April 1st deadline, there is still a good chance for him/her to get honor’s housing because they set aside some rooms for honor students.</p>
<p>If your son knows other students who are going to Bama (or meets some quickly) that he’d like to room with, he can be pulled into a suite prior to his selection time by another student with an earlier selection time. Just something to keep in mind. . .</p>

<p>I think he is the only student from his school to apply to Bama. </p>
<p>He is not much of a Facebook type, but I suggested to him to look both on the Facebook and the housing roommate finder for a possible roommate.</p>
<p>I see that he’s gotten both the Presidential and Eng’g scholarships…congrats!</p>
