What nickname works?

This is directed to current and former students, parents, or anyone who can provide some insight. My S will be a member of the class of 2015. To date, we don't know if there is or isn't a preferred nickname. Is it the "fords" or "Fords" or "'Fords" or "The Fords?" How about "Squirrels" or "Black Squirrels?" Are these terms only used for a mascot? Does the bi-college relationship enter into this at all?

The 'Ford = HC
'Fords = students

Black Squirrels = defacto athletic/college mascot but not accepted by all teams (ie Honor goats = men’s track) or to describe a team who has accepted it as their mascot.

BMC’s mascot is the owl and they have their own teams except for women’s rugby (the horned toads) which is bi-co.

You can also make any name/thing/place/state of mind haverized by adding ‘haver’ onto it.

ex. Haverboy, havergirl, havertastic, haverfest, haverfish.

That being said, I actually consider myself a Black Squirrel. (I can’t resist their fluffy randomness.)

It’s never just ‘squirrels’ though… Just plain ‘squirrels’ is too boring to be a Haverford nickname! haha!

Thanks for the information from a new “haverdad”
