I agree with bringing a swimsuit. It doesn’t take up that much room and you never know.

Keep your cosmetics somewhere other than your dresser top(maybe in a bag under your bed?)

I’m sure a 32" TV would fit perfect on a dresser.

Gosh, I can’t believe people would use other people’s make-up… let alone share clothing!

Anyways, my mom says bringing CASH is a no-no and to only bring my debit card. What do you guys think?

Bring some cash, but I wouldn’t bring a lot. I pay for 95% of stuff with my debit card, and cash is crazy easy to steal with no real way to trace where it went. I brought about $500 last year and it was way too much. I spent maybe $100 in cash the whole year.

Thanks guys. It’s a little frustrating because I’ve worked for two and a half years and I’ve always been pretty careful with my spending money, but my parents are still convinced that I’ll run into debt. I think I’m going to spend my first semester without one and see how I am, but I’ll certainly bring up those points when I’m home in December!

I spend a lot of cash because there are a bunch of little restaurants I love to eat at that only take cash. That is why I picked a bank that has an ATM convenient for my dorm. I wouldn’t keep more than $50 cash at a time.

Small fans may or may not suffice. I bought a small fan to bring this year, and it’s pretty good. Much more powerful than you would think with its size.

Swimsuit? You could…but it’s not necessary. I do know some people who swim regularly though.

Cash? It’s definitely a good thing! I like it because it helps me keep track of my spending.
