My daughter is applying to direct BSN programs this year. Should she write about her passion for nursing in her common app or could she write about anything else?
Many colleges accept just the common app essay and do not ask for additional “why college” or “Why nursing” essays. In this case, she could talk about her passion for nursing in her common app essay.
However, if an additional college-specific or major “nursing” specific essay is required, she could talk about it there. She would need to write a separate common application essay then!
Is she applying to the Honors college/program? If so, she would need a separate essay or sets of essays for this as well.
Overall your DD should plan on writing 3-4 essays and re-use them as needed. Personalizing essays for each college also takes time!
