What % of What Goes On Do We Know?

Dedicated home theater room did the trick in our house...

With a front projector, surround sound and 119" diagonal screen.

Hee! Thanks for those tips. That's what I'm feeling these days...teens want food & space!

Only thing---we don't have TV at our house (just screen that can play DVDs, games/videos). I'll have to restock the pantry...I'm always trying to save $ & have 'healthy-type' food around. I guess vegetables & no tv aren't super-enticing. LOL. I'll go buy frozen pizza. :-)

I am from a nice town in the Northeast. My kids do alot of things that make me cringe (but, heck...they aren't doing anything that I didn't do back when)...but there are SO MANY parents in my town (of high school kids) that think their kids are above drinking, partying, etc. It is unbelievable that they think their kids aren't getting into mischief.....because my kids tell me alot about what goes on..........so I know these kids don't have halos on their heads.

There are a group of parents in one of the HS classes, who's children have been good friends (boys and girls) since kindergarden. Just about any party that goes on ALL OF THE PARENTS are there. The parents are super-super involved in their kids lives. It's like one big cult. It's nice that the parents are caring, but most of the kids are still attached to the umbilicle cord.

As long as they are happy (parents and kids), I guess there isn't an issue. However, what is going to happen to those kids when they go off to college on their own....with out their total support group.

Oddly enough, though, now that I think of it, alot of kids from my town do go to the same colleges together. I think that is odd. When are they ever going to venture out on their own?

This is true in our area also. Most go to one of five state schools depending on their high school performance. Have to say my kids chose differently, S#1 knew no one at his school, nor did D. at hers. Son #2 had one high school friend at his college.
