first orientation will be a week from now. On myUCLA, it says to bring "All official records you have received from UCLA, including this confirmation". What do they mean by offical records?

Your high school transcript, admissions letter, Hepatitis B vaccination proof, BruinCard-compatible photograph, general proof of identification and anything UCLA might have sent you in the mail (including the Orientation package).

AP/IB scores (if applicable) and community college transcripts (if applicable)... mostly to determine which classes to place you in for those who took AP/IB tests or college courses that can affect their course selection

what if you don't have your high school transcript?

do the transcripts have to be official?

no - in fact, you don't really need to bring anything. Like people have mentioned, its mostly so you know which classes to enroll in. I remember being so bummed I brought all that crap with me and I never even got it out.

yeah you dont really need anything. i think they already have your transcript up to your jr or 1st sem sr year because you had to mail it in (or it was on your app, i forget :p). like already mentioned, its just to help to pick your classes in case one of your HS or CC classes satisfies a prereq or something like that. all i brought with me was the stuff UCLA sent me, and i dont even remember using any of that.

if you want to get a head start, you can goto http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/schedule if you havent already and start poking around and getting familiar with it. :D

most important thing is to go to the registrar page like VTECaddict said, especially the day before your orientation starts!

in reality, you dont NEED to bring anything, and anything you bring they probably already have the info somewhere, but it's for just in case. most of you here in CC are like WAYYYYYY ahead of the game and know what you want to enroll in already anyway!

im not bringing ****....

hehe maybe i'll see some of you CCers there (that is, if you guys are doing the 7/14 one).
