What on earth was Kerry thinking!

Dear Raimius,

You are ever the gentleman. Seriously.

Respectfully,
Jamzmom

"Democrats [generally] will never get ahead until they start becoming more positive about what they would do to solve the country's problems."

Sometimes you can't solve problems, however, those who created the problems shouldn't be kept in power just because the other side doesn't have an idea. (IRAQ). WE HAVE to not ignore past transgressions. Please, Congress was stalled for months when Bill Clinton had sex with an adult woman. And now you have the nerve to say that there's 3,000 dead people we should just suck it up and get over with it. HELL NO. Its time for censure/impeachment.

In reference to SUPREME COURT, can you elaborate on in what instances judges have ruled that caes can not be used to set precedent as they did in Bush v. Gore 2000.

"Vote against Bush. Rally your acquaintances to vote against every Republican you can. [I have]"
-Bill

Excellent advice. Thanks Bill!

As is typical for a C23ist, you like to ask questions but never answer them. You l ike to throw out comments that have no basis in fact but then refuse to acknowledge those that offer their sources for the argument they make.

For example, where are you coming up with the idea that Bush v. Gore cannot be used as precedent?

Just a quick look finds at least 160 federal and state cases that have cited to Bush v. Gore for various reasons. [That would be relying upon it as precedent.]

You may take my advice this year but, in two years, when [note WHEN] the Democrats fail to follow through on their promises, vote them out also.

As Z has been patient and good, so will I. To paraphrase: "B out."

somehow I don't think anyone seeks voting tips on this forum.

My claims are not unsubstantiated. "You have the right to your own opinions, but not your own facts". Also, Bill you also know that Sup. judges are supposed to step down from a case if they have a stake in it, the exact term leaves me.. BUT both Scalia and Thomas had members of their household working for the BUSH crowd.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bush_vs._Gore#Per_curiam_opinion

"Our consideration is limited to the present circumstances, for the problem of equal protection in election processes generally presents many complexities.[38] "
---- majority opinion
The court's defenders considered this a reasonable precaution against the possibility that the decision might be read overbroadly,[39] arguing that in the short time available it would not be appropriate to attempt to craft language spelling out in greater detail how to apply the holding to other cases. Critics, however, interpreted the sentence as stating that the case did not set precedent in any way and could not be used to justify any future court decision, and some suggested that this was evidence the majority realized its holding was untenable.[40] It was seen by many as a departure from the stare decisis principle.

Alright. I'm gonna say it one more time nice and loud...

STOP THIS MADNESS!!!! usna09mom and mf1997 are just here to raise hell. DONT LET THEM!!!! Who the hell cares anyway!?!?!?!

21,000+ Americans seriously wounded in Iraq
nuclear proliferation
billions of American tax dollars wasted in Iraq

We all care.
We are all worried.
We are, or will be, parents of the next generation to defend and protect.

This is really not the place to air out this kind of dirty laundry- if you really want to make a difference, do it in the voting booth.

As for me, I like to believe that the folks at home are supporting our troops in everyway they can. Bantering it about in here really gets nothing accomplished but a lot of misunderstanding and hard feelings.

Give it a rest, please! I don't like the number of military deaths, or the numbers wounded, and it kills me to think about how much this is costing us in lives lost, disrupted or otherwise....or what the outcome might be if we don't succeed in getting this under control... All wasted? Not so sure about that- do we really need another 9/11 here? Sorry folks- it really screwed up our skyline and claimed a lot of some very dear friends....

So lets just all support our kids- our mids, cadets, newbees, coasties and even the zoomies... and more importantly, our troops in the thick of things that are trying their hardest to keep us all safe! Please!

And on that note, I am locking this thread. I will likely delete it soon, and will be sending warnings to a number of members who have posted inappropriately on this thread and on others on this forum. It will take me some time to clean up the threads on this forum, but I will be doing so. It will be up to you all to keep the room clean afterwards.

The Service Academy Parents forum is a place to request and share information and support among parents of current or prospective Service Academy students. It is not a place for political complaining, arguing, or grandstanding: go to the Parents Cafe forum if you want to engage in that sort of behavior.

And NO forum on College Confidential is a place for revealing personal information or engaging in personal attacks. The topic of "other members" is NEVER the appropriate content of a post.

This forum is not a political playground. Shape up, everyone.
