What operating system does your computer science class work on?

Windblows 2000

Isn't it Winblows? ;) Anyways, why are you against it? Does it cause you problems in school or something?

our entire school (including comp sci) operates on windows 2000

Maybe its the operating system...maybe it's the computers...but we always have conflicts with Java and Windows. At home, I have no issues running Eclipse with Windows XP...

we have windows 2000 and windows xp(sp2)...its okay...

what the? Linux is the right environment for Computer Science.

Whatever we want, as long as we can write code in the relevant language.
I use Mac OS X 10.3.9 (Panther), but others use Windows XP, Windows 2000, Gentoo Linux, Fedora Core 4, Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), Ubuntu Linux...
What's installed in college is Windows 2000 and Red Hat Linux 9.

Oh btw Eclipse works like a dream in Mac OS X, for any of you who program Java.

lab benches - they're retro
