What other schools are UC Applicants applying to

Yeah, and when it comes to careers, that's probably gonna look more impressive than going to Stanford for undergrad. :)

Considering the Stanford transfer rate for transfers fluctuates from 3% to 8% every year and people who transfer there are mostly coming from other top schools I did not even want to waste my time.

I'm sure there are other top schools besides stanford that you guys can apply for undergrad. Considering the majority are applying to UCB and UCLA, both of which are very good institutions, it would make a lot of sense to think about applying to schools outside of California.

If your stats are good enough for UCB, UCLA, or even UCSD, they will likely make you somewhat competitive at other reputable institutions. I thought about applying out-of-state to U of C (they admit ~ 35-40% of their applicants), but I don't think their engineering program is as strong as CAL's or HSSEAS, so I decided not to.

USC, Fullerton, SDSU, CSULB, and CSULA...

Is it difficult to complete the requirements for IGETC and USC? How many extra courses did you need to take to fulfill the needed amount for USC?

you don't have to take extra classes to fulfill the requirement... all IGETC and USC GE's are similar.
just compare and take the courses.

Ah, thanks. Anyone know the admittance rate at USC? Are what they're looking for pretty much similar to that of UCLA or UCB?

Rollins
Miami
Ohio State
Indiana

UCLA4me: Princetonreview says USC has a 25% admittance rate.

I think that I'm definitely "somewhat competitive" for other programs, but not significantly competitive. Being a math major, where am I going to go that's better than Berk? Harvard, MIT, Stanford are all in the same league or better. They've got, like, a tenth to a fifth the acceptance rate for transfers, and I neither have preference nor have I been completing classes specifically to get into these schools. Story is pretty similar with the schools immediately below Berkeley.

Basically, I feel that if I'm not going to be accepted into Berkeley then I'm definitely not going to be accepted into anything comparable to Berkeley. If I'm not going to be accepted into UCSD, then I'm not going to be accepted into anything comparable to UCSD. Et cetera.

--Joe

okay.. acceptance rate Berkeley=USC similar.. UCLA cuz of TAP it's pretty high that i remember was 40something percent..

TheIcon, the U of C doesn't have an engineering program.

Check out USC's transfer brochure: http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/private/docs/admission/0708/08_TrnsfrBk_final_single.pdf
Page 9 has the Core Requirements you need to transfer. There is an awesome chart on pages 10-11.

Thanks nuveen.
