What other schools do you think are similar to Wesleyan?

in terms of feel: brown, vassar, conn college, skidmore, bard, hampshire

I agree, but I'd also go more urban than that. A lot of Wes kids are really, really hip in an NYU or Eugene Lang kind of way.

I applied early decision, but if I didn't get in, I was going to apply to: Yale, Brown, Williams, Bowdoin, Middlebury, Claremont-McKenna (though Pomona is probably more similar to Wes), Rutgers, University of Rochester

Schools I hear about students deciding between a lot: Brown, Vassar, Haverford, NYU (especially for film-interested students). More of the time, students choose Wes over Sarah Lawrence, Bard, Hampshire, as far as I can tell. I'm surprised we don't get more crossover with U. Chicago and Reed, but I supose there are geographic reasons for that. We do get some significant crossover with other top northeast LACs, most of which have a decidedly different "feel" than Wesleyan (wes likes to think it's more hip, less preppy), but I'll include nevertheless: Williams, Amherst, Middlebury, Bowdoin, Bates, Colby, etc. Also, Swarthmore is generally considered more intense and less laidback (especially workload wise) than Wesleyan.

If I didn't apply to Wes, I'd probably have applied to Amherst or Pomona.
