What path should I take to pursue a degree in psychiatry?

I am currently a rising junior in college as a psychology major. I just currently got interested in pursuing a career in pediatric psychiatry.

The problem is that I have not taken any pre-med requisite courses and I have a really low GPA, 2.37.

I don't really know what to do.
Should I start take my pre- reqs now or do a post-bacc program?
Is it possible to raise my GPA to at least a 3.0 by the end of senior year?

Anyone have a similar experience to this?
Advice on what path I should take.

Thanks.

I don’t have a similar experience, but I am a child psychiatrist and know a many who work with kids mental health… Your major has very little to do with it. I don’t know about post bacc programs. No matter the specialty, you have to get into and out of med school to become a psychiatrist. And becoming a Child Psych is one of the longest paths (6 years after medical school) with among the smallest financial reward. Do you mind saying why you are interested? Here or in a pm?
