What percent chance would you give me for being accepted to rice

Hey so recently I have gained a lot of interest in rice. I know it's very competitive. Especially since I'm a white male applying to their engineering program.

Please say what percent chance (Ie 40 percent) I have of being accepted.

Here's my stats.. Chance me up!

Gpa weighted 4.31 all As except one B in calculus AB . To make up for this, I took BC calc at nova community (Top cc in us) and got an A. As a result, my nova gpa is 4.0.
10/277 for top 4 percent of class
10 APs total including senior year
*Multivariable calculus first semester senior year and calc 4 second semester *

ACT: 33 with a 35 in math 35 in English and 31 in science and 29 in reading (I got a 32 in reading on a different date) in one date. Also a 9 in the essay for a 32 combined English writing score.

SAT math 2: 770
SAT us history:690

Attended a leadership camp.

I’m also VP of our schools model UN club

I would say a high match to a low reach. But I am not really sure about rice.
Good Luck :D

Hey! Kudos to your high ambitions, I’m actually just going to a Rice info session now. All your academics and ecs are looking great- just make sure you know why you want to go there and write a superb essay. Applying early can also help. I’d say super low reach :)

So low reach seems to be the consensus. My stats seem to be above average for the school. Why is this the case.

It’s a low reach because Rice is very selective, and if everybody went on stats alone and said it was a low match for you, they’d be lying. Rice gets tons of people who are qualified, so make sure you stand out. As far as a percentage, I have absolutely no idea. There are threads speculating the percentage chance for ‘low reach’ schools though. You could check it out.

All the best!

No one has a high chance of acceptance at the selective schools, because there are so many highly qualified people who want to get in, and the school only has so many slots that they can fill. You are no less qualified, but also no better qualified, than thousands of other applicants.

Apply to Rice, of course, but be sure that you also apply to back-up schools where you can be assured of admission because your grades and EC’s are higher than their average applicants.
