What percentile do you have to be in to qualify for national merit?

I don't think I qualified. I got 92nd percentile, a 192. Will this get me anything (not money necessarily but recognition?)

I'm kinda bummed, I got a 91st percentile as a sophomore and only a 92nd percentile as a junior. My CR and math percentiles went down 10 points....! My writing stayed the same, 96th.

i doubt it.. commended is around 202-203, a semifinalist varies by state, but is always higher

but on the positive side, it's really not a big deal at all :)

Yeah, for whatever reason I was SUPER TIRED on the day I took it and I walked away knowing I didn't do as well as I had the year before.

I got the equivalent of a 1920 on this, but I got a 2140 on the real SAT last year...

The money would have been nice but I'll do OK on the regular SAT's so it's not a big deal.

You found your score out today? I'm anxious to see what I scored (I was around 190 last year). So I guess that means that they mailed the reports out already? Or do they go to the schools first?

Anyways, congrats on the great score!

192 may get you something if you're hispanic or african american and signed up for the alternate awards, but even so i'm doubtful... I believe the cut off is about 195 for anything.

I believe it's the top 1/2 of 1% or something. You're well below the cutoff. I know my brother got it with lke a 212, and I'm a semifinalist with a 222, I'm pretty sure last year the cutoff was 214.

cutoffs depends on the state. commended is usually always 96%, which this year is equalvalent to 201,202,203.

what do you get for commended anyways?

When did you all get your scores??

i dont what you get for commended ahaha. i got my scores on 12/7 i think

I got my scores last year, but it was sometime before christmas break I know.
