What was your main topic for your rice essay about what perspecive you will bring to Rice? I am completely stuck on this essay question

this question is FREAKING ME OUT!!!!
i really don't know what to write because i am afraid that i will go way too general
i'm thinking about writing about my experience after immigrating to america but that is too cliche and it is ending up really general
im trying to think of a specific event but none come to my mind that whould display my unique perspective
some help would really be appreciated since this is due in 4 days for Interim decision

I wrote about being adopted and while it may sound cliche (as much as being adopted can be), it worked out well. It was probably one of the best essays I've ever written and I think that, depending on the individual, that can be more important. Whatever you write about, I recommend you have a bunch of different people read it over and offer criticism.

I wrote about how I'm a math/theater combo person and can get along well with lots of different people, and how I'm going to bring enthusiasm to the whole college-rivalry thing. I made lots of connections to Rice and wrote it in a pretty interesting way... I think it turned out well.

I have to mail this thing TOMORROW and I'm freaking out.
I think I might write about how I try to give back everything I learn - I've been riding horses for 7 years, now I teach lessons part time; I'm in a special high school program for students who want to go into medicine, I do a lot of volunteer work with younger kids teaching them about science and health.
Would it be really cliche to talk about how teaching others benefits me as much as them? It sounds really cliche.
Can you tell I'm freaking out?

What about a relaxed, informal writing style? They probably get a lot of that - smart kids trying to show that they are still laid back and normal. Is that a bad idea?

ok wait, new plan:
I have this cute, quirky essay about the life lessons I've learned from all the horses I've loved. What if I take than and add the bit about how I also love teaching children to ride and love horses?
