A school i'm applying to is asking for an "informal photo". What kind of photo should I send? A school photo? Me at an extra-curricular activity? Or a photo with family and friends? I'm confused.

Since it says, informal, I wouldn’t worry about the context too much. HOWEVER, it is possible that if you ended up that the school, this photo would pop up in some kind of school “facebook” thing of incoming students, or, get forwarded to your future roommate, etc., so make sure its a picture of you that you’re comfortable with and confident about.

Ok, thanks!

@narwhalsnarwhals What school is this, if you don’t mind? I’ve never heard of a school that wants you to send in a picture of yourself… lol

aubreygal - there are actually lots. I know that at least half of the schools I am applying to require one, and for the rest, I’m mailing in a printout of my school picture along with my graded essay. I think it would be helpful to them to see the face behind all of the paperwork.

@aubreygal Miss Porter’s

Ohhh okay…that was actually a smart idea, ballerina22! I sent in a video of me singing, so I guess it’s sort of the same thing.
