<p>Hi, I'm a freshman who is unsure but interested in the public policy major. I was wondering what a good public policy class would be to take first semester freshman year? I know that PubPol 55D is the intro course, but it's already full :(. Is there any other PubPol course that would be suitable for me?</p>
<p>Stay on the waitlist and go to the first couple of classes. For big classes like that, the prof won’t mind letting extra people in.</p>

<p>I’ve only taken one higher-level pubpol class myself (cross-listed with polsci), but I hear good things about the human rights courses. If you’re into education at all, try the Children, Schools and Society course- it comes with a service learning tutoring component as well, I think.</p>
<p>I know that PUBPOL 128 is also a requirement for the major and doesn’t need any pre-reqs. Does anyone know if PUBPOL 128 would be better to take first semester than PUBPOL 55D?</p>
