What qualifies as legacy at UMich

Thanks in advance

i think just parents - but when it asked i put G-rents, aunts and uncles. I got in…

Grandparents, yes; aunts/uncles, no.

In the old point system, parents/stepparents count for 4 points, while others (grandparents, siblings, spouses) count for 1.

So siblings do not count?

The application prompted me for siblings. So, I put one down. I got in, so maybe?

Mother, Father, grandmother, grandfather, sister and brother.

Siblings count … though not as much as parents in the old point system (see post #3) …
grandparents, siblings, spouses all count for 1 point.

thanks guys

I’m just curious if the “Legacy” has to be at U of M - Ann Arbor campus or do the other U of M campuses count?

So if my uncle went to UM for grad school they won’t care? They wouldn’t get ticked if I put it on the app, would they?

I should probably also tell them my grandpa got his Doctorate and my aunt got her masters from OSU lol…not

parents (host parents)
Siblings (Host Siblings)…
i got in–my host siblings are there…

:P
