One of the top pieces of advice that I've heard from people is to be active with the admissions office. The only problem is I don't know how. I know you're supposed to ask questions, but I honestly don't have any. What are some good questions that I could ask to show I'm interested in the school without coming across as being annoying? (and please don't say whatever questions I have, because I honestly have none)

Thanks :)

Are you visiting highly competitive schools?

Yes, I am. (ex. Ivy League, Boston College, Vanderbilt, UVA)

Many highly competitive universities don’t really track interest, and certain schools let this be known, while others want applicants to show the love. Note that I am not including LAC’s here, as I honestly don’t know enough about the top ones to know how they factor in interest. So what you’ve been told is only partially correct.

Check the Common Data Set, section C for each school for a table that shows what factors are considered important. “Demonstrated interest” will be rated there and that’s how you will know.
