Well, I am not chancing you (too hard: no SAT scores), but I want to warn you about your college choices.

As you’ve stated, your family can only contribute $8000 a year. Most of the colleges you listed do NOT give you financial aid (because you’re international), so perhaps you should rethink your choices.

Hampshire is not safe given the financial need. Midd is no longer need blind to internationals. I’d say your safety has got to be in the UK or your home country.

i think you look good for those schools. maybe you can swap middlebury with williams or amherst since the former just became non need blind for internationals? and do get a high SAT score.

Middlebury remains need blind for international students to the extent that resources allow. What that means is that Middlebury will admit international students (and meet 100% of their demonstrated need) without considering their financial need until the entire financial aid budget has been exhausted, at which point they will consider the ability to pay when making admissions decisions about any remaining international applicants. Middlebury’s financial aid budget (and percentage of international students) is much larger than its peers, so it still makes perfect sense to apply to Middlebury.

Consider Grinnell, in Iowa. It is a LAC, similar to Middlebury, with an excellent academic reputation, especially among graduate schools, but less competitive to get into. The have a huge endowment, which means they offer very generous financial aid and merit aid and actively recruit foreign students (12% of the student body) to bring diversity to their midwestern campus.
