"my S had a 3.43 uw and a 4.1 wl 1490 on the old SATs; 2210 on the New AP scholar with distinction, national merit commended student. lots of ECs, personal invitation from U.S. Congressman to intern in his office, national cartoon award. he didn't get into NYU ED. so you're chances are slim unless something else makes you stand out"

did he apply to NYU STERN? Because if he did, it is quite obvious why he didn't get in. a considerably lower GPA + high SAT scores does not necassarily get you into a college. YOU PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERSTAND. THIS IS ALLLLLL SO SUBJECTIVE. HEY FREEKOBE- APPLY TO NYU G O D D A M N I T. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW S H I T . EVERYTHING IS SO SUBJECTIVE ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY. YOU KNOW THEY DID A SURVEY ON THIS, THE SAME PEOPLE WHO GET REJECTED IN THE MORNING CAN GET ACCPETED IN THE EVENING. AN FRIEND OF MINE TOLD ME THIS, HES AT CARNEGIE RIGHT NOW. WHAT IF YOU ADMIN OFFICER IS SLIGHTLY DRUNK OR JUST BROKE UP WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND? WHAT IF HE IS A SENIOR ADMIN. OFFICER??? ANY FREAKING THING CAN HAPPEN, DON'T LET THESE PEOPLE DISCOURAGE YOU.

3.3 + 1200 SAT are decent, above average scores for most places. you chose NYU, your scores are below the average. big freaking deal. you might get in, you might not. whatever these people or I tell you will make no difference. this site is so pointless. the most educated of these people will look at the average of the school, compare your scores, and tell you if you are "in" or not.
YOU CAN DO THAT BY YOURSELF.

oops my bad, disregard the "broke up with his girlfriend etc. part", I think that rumour was disproved. but I still rest my case- college admission is still rather subjective.

so i'm a senior and i applied to nyu.
stats: 3.2 gpa unweighted
sat: 2150, sat ii: 740, 720
etcetc

i come from a super competitive school but since 5 out of 6 classes i take are honors or ap, my weighted gpa is way up there.

i applied to nyu so i'll let you know if i get in come april 1st.
this way you can see if you have a chance to get in.

just work on your essays, pull up your grades, pick a cold major and hey, you never know.
crappy gpa doesn't necessarily screw your chances over. my gpa is crap and i got into ucsd etc.
work on your sats. you're a junior so that's plenty of time.

oh and blabsta: I belive NYU Stern is the most selective. I also believe it is ranked 5/1000 for top business schools in the country.

It offers the BEST part time MBA, over Harvard, over Darthmouth. I cite Fortune Magazine on that. The average per hour salary of a Stern Graduate is $166.
